# CMS Nest not populating the different nested items

Hey there.

CMS Nest is populating all nested items. It seems like it can’t link to the individual items.

Can you guys see what is wrong?

hey @christopher! Make sure your collection on the template references the collection’s multi-reference field. Only the items selected in this reference field should be on the collection template page.

You can also share your read-only and I can pinpoint what is missing better 🙂

When adding the `template-reference` list you need to add the referenced collection, not the whole tags collection. This is the field shown below.
