I have list filter and load more on a blog list. When I use the search feature, it pulls in all the items that meet the criteria, but it adds them to one of the blog post items. I have attached two screenshots. One showing it being added and the result on the page.
Any help figuring out why this happens would be appreciated.
Hey Pedro. Thank you. So does this mean there is not a fix for this at this time? It is a Webflow bug that unless they address it, then the list will not filter properly? Looking for what I can tell my client about this issue.
Thanks again. So what I am hearing from you is that the search feature offered by Finsweet encounters a Webflow rendering issue when the result items are pulled into the list and this is why Finsweet search is having difficulty rendering the list properly when search occurs?
Just to be certain we are on the same, this rendering issue doesn’t happen until someone searches using Finsweet search. It is not something that is occuring as the list loads. It only occurs once I use Finsweet search. The results are added to one of the list items instead of being appended to the list this is what the screen shot is meant to show.
We are on the same page with the idea that this is a Webflow issue and not a targeting issue with how Finsweet search is adding the search results into the list?
I just want to double make sure this is what is happening so that I can educate my client properly.
And if I contact Webflow support, what would I say? They typically don’t help with custom code functionality.
I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around how this is a Webflow issue and not a Finsweet search targeting issue with where the search results are being added and displayed. Can you please help me understand this better so that I can educate my client as to their options since that will be the next question they ask.
Thanks for confirming! Yes, that’s correct, this is a Webflow rendering issue, not a Finsweet Search targeting problem.
You can see it more clearly by temporarily disabling Finsweet Attributes and clicking the “Load more” button a few times (until around page 4). The same issue should appear even without using Search.
This usually happens when Webflow doesn’t render dynamic items correctly after pagination, and it’s often fixed by simply republishing the site. Have you tried that yet?
If you contact Webflow support, you can tell them that your Collection List starts nesting extra items inside another one after a few “Load more” clicks, even with no custom code active. That should help them understand it’s a Webflow issue.
