Placeholder Functionality for Cookie Consent Elements

Hi Finsweet team,

This is a followup for @juicydisorder question that has not been answered yet.

I’m implementing your cookie consent solution and need clarification on how the placeholder feature works for videos, maps, and iframes in general. The documentation mentions:

" Use the attribute fs-consent-element="placeholder" on a div block with a message indicating that a video, map, or embedded content is blocked until the user consents."

However, I’m unsure how to map each placeholder to the correct element when there are multiple instances of videos and iframes on the same page. For example:

  • I have several videos and one iframe on the same page.
  • Each should have a unique placeholder with its own message and a button to open the cookie settings for that specific content.

Could you clarify how I can achieve this and ensure the placeholders align with their respective content?

Additionally, I noticed that on the video documentation, the “Copy Video Element” button in Step 3 doesn’t copy anything to my clipboard. Could you check if this is an issue on your end or if there’s a workaround?

Thank you in advance for your support!

Best regards,
Yannik
