I haven’t been able to intall the IG component yet because I can’t seem to get past step 4: meta access token. I get an error that it is disabled. Upon researching meta forums, creating test users is disabled indefinitely, and not sure what the new procedure will be to configure IG settings in my meta account.
My client has a business IG account, which seems to be a requirement in my case, yet I don’t see any way to configure any settings within meta.
Here is my video walkthrough.
Some guidance here would be much appreciated!!!
UPDATE: I have learned that the previous video simply reflects an older UI, and the functionality at the time didn’t have same use cases as the new UI. I have created a net new app and see the process reflected in the finsweet documentation!
Hey @Drcontempo!
What you’re running into isn’t a configuration mistake on your end — it’s a platform-level change from Meta that broke a lot of Instagram integrations across the board.
Meta deprecated the Instagram Basic Display API on **September 4, 2024**, and fully shut it down on **December 4, 2024**. That’s the API our Instagram Feed component’s setup flow was built around — including the test user invitation step you’re trying to complete. When you see test users listed as “disabled indefinitely,” that’s because the entire API they belong to no longer exists.
So the documented steps (creating a Meta app, adding the Instagram product, adding test users, generating tokens) simply can’t work anymore. No amount of correct configuration on your end will change that — the API itself is offline.

You are on the right track!
