Default sync actions - making publishing cms items easier for end users/clients

Cheers!

Been testing CMS bridge today and it’s looking promising so far.

I’m attempting to make the end-user workflow as clean as possible, and I’ve noticed that you can set a default value for the CMS-B: Action field to automatically publish a new row as a CMS item after sync, by using the value “Publish item LIVE”.

But, the workflow for syncing edited rows is less convenient, as afterwards the value will be updated to “Re: Item published Live”.

Is there something I’ve missed that can be used to make it publish edited rows by default as well?

Alternatively, would it make sense for the sync to use publish item as a default value rather than staging the item? I have a sense that having items be staged is the least preferable default behaviour between items being drafted or published.

Update:
On second thought, this is not actually an issue since that can be set up with automations. Thanks to the forum for being a great rubber ducky!

I’m happy everything worked out for you. If you have any other questions, we’re happy to help!

Hey y’all I have this question as well. It seems like if I don’t touch the action option when making a change to an already published item, the default action is to stage the item rather than republish it.

@caffeinatedkev could you explain your solution?
