Setting up a temporary redirect

Hello,
A client of mine is planning a website redesign and would like to take the “website offline for a while”.
In the meantime they would like a landing page building, on their current domain, to point all visitors to their socials.

What is the best way to do this without losing search rankings? All pages will need to be redirected to this newly built landing page on their domain (clientsdomain.com/landing-page).

A 301 is permanent redirect, which we don’t want. If it’s something else, like a 302…503(?), what’s the best way to set this up in Webflow?

Thanks all

Hey @Darren!

If it’s a short period of time, the strategy of setting 302 or 307 redirects may work, but if it’s a long time Google may still consider that the content is no longer available and remove it.

The best solution is not to redirect the whole site; instead, work on redesigning it on a separate staging domain that doesn’t affect the live content.

However, this depends on your client’s needs. You can DM me some more details and I can see what’s best!
